Warehouse Worker/Mailroom Inserter – Part-Time

USA TODAY | Des Moines, IA

Pay: $18.00 per hour

$1,000 Sign-On Bonus

30+ Hours Per Week

USA TODAY is hiring Part-Time Mailroom Inserters for our production facility in Des Moines, IA. We have immediate openings for dependable, safety-focused individuals who are ready to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Our operation runs seven days a week, and scheduled start times may vary based on production needs. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent part-time hours with the potential to work 30+ hours per week.

What You'll Do

• Feed preprinted materials into inserting machine hoppers accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor inserting equipment to help prevent double inserts, skips, and other production errors.
• Ensure newspaper products contain the correct inserts and meet quality standards.
• Remove completed bundles weighing approximately 10–50 pounds and stack them for the next stage of production and delivery.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing paper, skids, and production debris.
• Follow established safety procedures while working around forklifts, pallet jacks, inserting machines, and other production equipment.
• Assist with other production assignments as needed.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Strong safety awareness.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to monitor production equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to regularly lift, move, and stack newspaper products weighing 10–50 pounds or more.
• Ability to adjust to changing work assignments and production needs on short notice.
• Ability to work safely around moving equipment and machinery.

Schedule

• Part-time
• 30+ hours per week
• 8-hour shifts may be available based on production needs.
• Start times vary by workday.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule within a seven-day production operation.
