Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Associate. This position reports to Union, OH. The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of materials, including the loading and unloading of trucks to support smooth warehouse operations. This role involves receiving and visually inspecting incoming materials, maintaining accurate shipping/receiving records. The Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a key role in ensuring compliance with safety standards and proper documentation of all inbound and outbound shipments.

What Will You Do?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving & Inspection
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing slips, purchase orders, or other documents.
  • Perform visual inspection of goods for damage, quantity accuracy, and quality compliance.
  • Report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the supervisor immediately.
  • Shipping
  • Reel Identification: Use a Work Order Lot Report to locate specified reels accurately for production.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production team members to address material needs and schedule adjustments.
  • Loading & Unloading
  • Operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment to safely load and unload goods from trucks.
  • Ensure proper stacking, wrapping, and securement of materials for transport or storage.
  • Documentation & Record-Keeping
  • Fill out log sheets, checklists, and other tracking documents accurately.
  • Sign and validate packing slips, bill of ladings (BOL), and other shipping/receiving documents.
  • Maintain accurate records in warehouse management systems (manual or digital).
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Inspect forklifts and other equipment daily before use.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a packaging or warehouse role is preferred.
  • Valid fork-lifting certificate.
  • Proficiency in operating technical machinery and RF scanners.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
