Job Description

This individual will be responsible for ordering, receiving, documenting freight and packages, placing stock in proper areas, checking out stock to employees and overseeing inventory in warehouses. Also manage and place orders for future work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Service: Inspect, refill (recharge), and test fire extinguishers (ABC dry chemical, CO2 under supervision.
  • Hydrotesting: Assist with high-pressure hydrostatic testing of cylinders.
  • Shop Support: Clean, prep, recondition (sandblast/paint), and tag cylinders for service.
  • Inventory & Shipping: Load/unload trucks, receive deliveries, manage stock, and prepare equipment for field technicians.
  • Customer Interaction: Assist walk-in customers with drop-off/pick-up of extinguishers.
  • Compliance: Maintain accurate service records and follow OSHA/DOT/NFPA regulations.
  • Clean Warehouse - Daily pick up trash and swept
  • Keep inventory organized in the shelf and off the floor
  • Put up incoming inventory daily
  • Work Returns and Credits
  • Pull material for Pick Tickets
  • Look for inventory with low stock levels
  • Help with Will Call pickups
  • Drive standup and sit down forklift
  • Perform daily cycle counts
  • Help with physical inventory
  • Any other task you get assigned to
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 75lbs
  • Must have dependable transportation.
  • Self-starter
  • Capable of lifting up to 45 pounds
  • Forklift experience a plus but not necessary
  • Computer literate to utilize email and inventory programs
  • Well organized
  • Strong customer skills
  • Strong ability to balance work load
  • Good driving skills
  • Communication skills

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, shop, or fire safety setting is preferred
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift and move equipment over 50 lbs
  • Skills: Ability to use hand tools and learn technical, hands-on tasks
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Other: Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks/drug screens.
  • Training & Licensing: Potential for apprenticeships to earn state-specific fire extinguisher licenses
  • Advancement: Opportunity to move into a full Technician role.
