Job Description

Technical Professionals Group (TPG) is seeking a Warehouse Team Lead to support North America's leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer in Portland, Oregon.

The Warehouse Team Lead is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating daily warehouse operations in support of engineering programs, vehicle testing, and build activities. This position will provide day-to-day direction to the warehouse team, coordinate workload and priorities, monitor performance and safety, and serve as a key point of contact between TPG and the customer stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings strong warehouse experience, demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to organize people, parts, equipment, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Team Lead responsibilities include:

  • Plan and allocate manpower based on daily operational needs, program requirements, and changing priorities.
  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, material movement, storage, staging, and distribution of parts and equipment.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and daily direction to Material Handlers and other assigned team members.
  • Manage and monitor team performance to ensure service levels, productivity, quality, and safety expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Train and support team members on applicable systems, warehouse processes, safety requirements, procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, organization, quality, and service.
  • Serve as a primary point of coordination with customer stakeholders, ensuring warehouse activities and resources are aligned with engineering and business priorities.
  • Communicate changing priorities, resource needs, risks, and operational concerns to appropriate TPG and customer stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain the long-term storage, organization, and traceability of parts, components, and testing equipment.
  • Support inventory accuracy and proper documentation of material movement and storage.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and professional warehouse environment.
  • Perform hands-on warehouse and material-handling activities as operational needs require.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • 3+ years of warehouse, material handling, logistics, inventory, or related operational experience.
  • Previous experience serving in a Team Lead, Lead Material Handler, Warehouse Lead, or similar leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize work across multiple team members and changing operational requirements.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, material movement, receiving, storage, and parts handling.
  • Ability to train, coach, and provide day-to-day direction to team members.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Ability to develop, monitor, and communicate operational metrics and KPIs.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with employees, customers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and experience working with inventory, warehouse, or related business systems.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of a warehouse environment, including standing and walking for extended periods and safely moving or handling materials as required.
  • Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug-free and successfully pass drug screening prior to employment.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience supporting automotive, heavy-duty truck, manufacturing, engineering, testing, or prototype operations.
  • Experience working within an OEM or engineering warehouse environment.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, or material tracking systems.
  • Forklift or other powered industrial equipment experience and/or certification.
  • Experience developing or implementing warehouse KPIs and performance reporting.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement, Lean, 5S, or similar operational improvement initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating long-term storage of engineering parts, test equipment, prototypes, or specialized materials.
