The Warehouse Supervisor with the Facilities Management Division establishes the required work duties and procedures to accomplish the objectives of the section, agency or location, ensuring that each staff member is accomplishing their individual responsibilities and working as a team in the most effective manner as defined by Broward County policies and procedures. Supervises the pick-up and loading/unloading of the delivery trucks by the contractual delivery drivers, directing staff in deliveries/pick-up duties and other related duties; checks the delivery logs daily and weekly for completion by the contractual delivery staff to ascertain the materials; uses this information to assess the need to re-configure the routing of deliveries in the future; periodically analyzes the cost incurred by the vehicles assigned. Maintains inventory levels in house, then compares that with the number of units listed in software system, checks number of units issued out to co-workers and other agencies/sections to determine purchase counts; checks items against the purchasing document when receiving items that have been ordered; creates and reviews logs for information/statistics. Oversees the preventative maintenance notices and other miscellaneous section responsibilities; supervises the custodial crew. Coordinates and reviews material purchase requirements for warehouse and for large projects; instructs employees on County policies changes; informs supervisors and directors on warehouse effectiveness. Aids other agencies in storing and receiving of outside material and the control of these items; coordinates with issuing these materials to other projects as requested by the agency. Works with vendors and resolves issues with vendors and customers. Utilizes the Inventory Management module of the AIM Integrated Workplace Management System to update inventory counts, apply material costs to work orders and analyze quantity on-hand, quantity available and future needs; controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling variances within the inventory management system. Submits purchase requisitions in the PeopleSoft financial system for procurement of materials and supplies to support purchasing forecasts and maintenance schedules. Manages the division's tool crib inventory, including tool check-in and check-out for trades staff and purchases tools for division use.
Supervises and assists in daily warehouse operations, including but not limited to fulfilling material requests and pick tickets for capital projects, preventive maintenance and routine repair and maintenance services and ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documents. Measures and reports the effectiveness of section activities by maintaining schedules, files, and records; develops and stores departmental work instructions for all tasks and maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education classes. Interprets county policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. Performs related work as assigned.
Manages the warehouse operations at a specific agency or location.
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Requires three (3) years of experience in warehouse and storekeeping work including one (1) year of lead work/supervisory experience.
Possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License based on area of assignment.
-Associate's Degree in Business or Public Administration or related subject
-Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration or related subject
-Certified Agency Buyer Certificate
-Qualified Warehouse Logistics Professional (QWLP)
-Certified Warehouse Logistics Professional (CWLP)
-OSHA Certified Forklift Operator
-Two (2) or more years of experience using AssetWorks AiM Integrated Workplace Management Systems, or similar, software
-Two (2) or more years of experience using PeopleSoft Financial Management Systems, or similar, software
-Two (2) or more years of experience in a facilities or construction management business environment
-Two (2) or more years of experience using Microsoft Office Word and Excel
