What we are looking for:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading warehouse operations in a high-volume, large-scale bulk mailing and print production environment. This position supervises warehouse team members, coordinates the safe and efficient flow of paper, roll stock, mail materials, finished goods, and production supplies, and ensures materials are available to support demanding production and mailing schedules. Responsible for inventory accuracy, receiving, material movement, cycle counts, physical inventories, warehouse organization, and First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory practices. The position also oversees safe operation and training for warehouse lift equipment, including forklifts, clamp roll trucks, and swing-reach trucks.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead daily warehouse operations supporting high-volume print production and bulk mailing operations, ensuring materials are received, stored, staged, and delivered to production on schedule.
  • Supervise warehouse employees, assign daily work, establish priorities, monitor productivity, and ensure compliance with warehouse procedures and safety requirements.
  • Ensure paper, roll stock, envelopes, inserts, mailing materials, production supplies, and finished goods are properly received, identified, stored, and controlled.
  • Ensure incoming goods are promptly and accurately received and verified against purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, and other shipping documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including quantities, warehouse locations, transactions, cycle counts, excess and obsolete materials, and red-tag inventory.
  • Implement and enforce First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory practices to ensure older inventory is consumed before newer inventory and to minimize aging, damage, waste, and obsolete materials.
  • Establish and maintain clearly identified warehouse stocking locations within the inventory/MRP system to support accurate material tracking and full system utilization.
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure accurate and timely material stock pulls, staging, replenishment, and identification of materials required for print and mailing operations.
  • Maintain an organized material staging process to support production schedules while preventing material shortages, incorrect stock usage, and production delays.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Production, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels and warehouse min/max quantities.
  • Conduct and oversee cycle counts, monthly inventories, and annual physical inventories. Research discrepancies and perform root-cause analysis of inventory gains, losses, and adjustments.
  • Accurately complete inventory transactions for all material movements and transfers between warehouse, production, staging, and finished-goods locations.
  • Ensure the safe handling and storage of large paper rolls, pallets, bulk mailing materials, and other production inventory.
  • Ensure employees operating powered industrial equipment are properly trained, certified, and authorized to operate assigned equipment.
  • Lead and document lift-equipment training, certification, refresher training, and safe operating practices.
  • Oversee the safe operation and daily inspection of forklifts, clamp roll trucks, swing-reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Ensure clamp roll trucks are operated correctly when receiving, storing, staging, and supplying paper rolls to production while minimizing product damage.
  • Ensure swing-reach equipment is operated safely and efficiently for material placement and retrieval within high-density warehouse storage and racking systems.
  • Maintain safe aisles, racks, staging areas, loading areas, and equipment operating zones.
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve 5S standards throughout warehouse, receiving, storage, and staging areas.
  • Maintain accurate warehouse documentation and provide timely inventory, material availability, shortage, and operational communications to Production and Operations teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, inventory flow, material handling, labor utilization, safety, and overall warehouse efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and accident-free working environment and ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of warehouse experience, including supervisory or leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing, printing, mailing, distribution, or similar production environment.
  • Experience supporting large-scale bulk mailing, commercial printing, paper handling, or high-volume production operations strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, physical inventory, warehouse location management, and FIFO inventory practices.
  • Experience working with MRP, ERP, warehouse management, or inventory-control systems.
  • Experience handling paper rolls, palletized materials, production supplies, and finished goods preferred.
  • Forklift certification required or ability to successfully complete company certification.
  • Experience operating and/or supervising operators of clamp roll trucks and swing-reach trucks strongly preferred.
  • Ability to conduct or lead powered industrial truck safety and operator training.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to coordinate warehouse priorities with Production, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Operations.
