Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor, supervises and coordinates activities of workers including receiving, storing, inventory, picking, packing and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in the warehouse.

Essential Job Functions

  • Accountable for productivity, supervision, and discipline of employees
  • Train and advise employees on job specific duties.
  • Assist and support management team with strategic planning of the operation and new business.
  • Show initiative and make suggestions for process improvements.
  • Effective communication with clients, vendors, and employees
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves issues.
  • Completes performance appraisals on direct reports semi-annually and provides on-going feedback on work performance.
  • Advises and enforces Health and Safety, customs, and trade compliance.
  • Ensure the operation achieves internal and client KPI’s.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Physically fit and able to think on your feet work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Regularly lift and/or move 25kgs and occasionally lift and/or move 25kgs.
  • Stand or sit for long periods of time.

Experience Required:

  • 3 years supervisor experience within a contract logistics environment.

  • Leadership exhibits confidence in self and others.
  • Planning/Organizing, uses time efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet challenges with resourcefulness.
  • Good communication skills
  • Education and Experience:
  • Three to four years relevant, job-related experience, education, or combination thereof
  • Two to three years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses:
  • Forklift Certified (Counterbalance & Reach Truck) preferred.
