Job Description

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Location: 2999 US-61, Woodville, MS 39669

Status: Full Time, Monday through Friday

Reports to the financial manager. Responsible for performing purchasing and supply work for the facility in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, organize, implementr and supervise the preparation of specifications for commodities and equipment
  • Prepare purchase orders and other procurement documentation
  • Coordinate the preparation of emergency and spot requisition requests for local purchase of items
  • Inspect all incoming shipments to ensure required specifications are met
  • Maintain perpetual inventory controls through the use of established systems including computerized programs
  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, and issue of warehouse items
  • Supervise the work of inmates assigned to the property area. Provide training on handling stock, record keeping, warehousing methods, and applicable policies and procedures
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques
  • Maintain accountability of staff, offenders and property; adhere to safety practices
  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required AND
  • Three (3) years experience in fire and safety field required, One (1) of which must be in a supervisory capacity.
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of Mississippi or Louisiana with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

  • Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
