Job Description


Responsible for coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities of an assigned work team on a shift basis by directing assigned Team Members in the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with service and cost objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Yes, oversight of 6-8 Warehouse personnel.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the most efficient unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Fills orders and issues supplies upon receipt of approved requisitions according to department procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains reports and records as required.
  • Ensures that receiving and requisition data entry are completed on a timely basis.
  • Directs and participates in scheduled and special inventories.
  • Assist Inventory Control with daily inquiries and inventory reconciliations.
  • Assist in the development of department budget.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Responsible for the cross communication between shifts.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; ensure all security policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure Team Members follow all safety policies and procedures. Thoroughly investigate and report all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner. Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
  • Ensure proper food safety practices are maintained.
  • Direct the operations of the assigned work team to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Conduct shift meetings.
  • Follow all policies and procedures.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Prepare and maintain work records and reports of information such as payroll, daily receipts, or inspection results.
  • Collaborate with Team Members and Managers to solve work-related problems.
  • Evaluate Team Member performance and prepare performance appraisals.
  • Conduct staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics, such as safety.
  • Coach Team Members in work-related activities, personal growth, or career development.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hiring, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years warehousing and inventory experience.
  • Mature judgment and good organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and time and attendance systems and inventory purchasing system experience a plus.
  • Ability to obtain insurance under company driving policy.
  • Ability to run a forklift and obtain proper licensing.
  • Ability to communicate with Team members and guests.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

  • Non-Gaming license/registration as required by the Virginia Lottery Board.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with particular attention to quality and detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; stoop, bend, twist, reach, push/pull, and regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, or dust.
