Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse personnel, processes, and inventory throughout receiving, storage, and shipping operations. This role includes coordinating with transportation carriers to ensure timely delivery to customers, while supervising staff responsible for loading products from the warehouse onto carrier trucks.

The position ensures that all products are handled safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. The Warehouse Supervisor is also accountable for maintaining high levels of operational efficiency and enforcing strong housekeeping practices across the facility.

Additionally, this role directs and manages the day-to-day activities of all inbound and outbound warehouse operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the tendering of shipments of inbound & outbound freight needs of the plant.
  • Responsible for enforcing appropriate freight tendering compliance levels and lost opportunity costs.
  • Responsible for supervising the tendering of interplant shipments.
  • Responsible for supervising LTL shipments and potential product returns to the plant.
  • Responsible for and directs movements of materials to and from our off-site warehouse and the plant in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the plant warehouse doesn’t get over-crowded and there is a good flow of inventory out of the plant to avoid over-crowding (IE direct what inventory gets sent to off-site)
  • Responsible for organization and housekeeping for each warehouse we operate out of
  • Plant Champion for import / exporting protocols
  • Addresses issues as needed to our carrier network and supervises other needs of communication to them.
  • Reacts to and adjusts for issues with trucking companies that deliver our product, while providing corrective actions for carriers that do not meet delivery expectations.
  • Oversees receiving controls and corrects or addresses receiving issues as needed.
  • Provides daily direction on shipping issues and warehousing activities, following up as needed.
  • Provides and/or implements corrective actions for any shipping related non-conformances.
  • Enforces plant rules, monitors attendance & vacations of subordinates, providing corrective action (discipline) as necessary.
  • Is a leader in Safety and promotes a safe working environment.
  • Responsible supervising and leads the training of new and current subordinates, as needed.
  • Provides routine audits for safety, housekeeping, quality, and productivity improvements.
  • Provides back-up support for plant scheduling, and other logistics personnel in the department when individuals are out of the office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related position shipping/receiving/warehousing industry
  • Preferred background in the injection/blow molding industry
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • TMS software experience is preferred.
  • Be a team player & motivates other through team building.
  • Forklift experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to apply basic math concepts.
  • Ability to lift/ move up to 30 lbs.
