About The Role
As the Warehouse Supervisor, you oversee the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of all product groups (including spares, accessories, T2 and finished goods), while engaging and inspiring a team of warehouse employees to exceed expectations, ensuring the New Zealand team support company objectives and deliver a remarkable customer experience each and every time.
You will proactively review and assess processes, looking for improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity.
You will need to work closely with the Compliance Controller, Logistics Manager, Team Lead – Spares, and supply chain partners to manage the receipt, storage and dispatch of product.
You do have overall responsibility for the warehouse and will be the main contact point for security after hours as well maintaining equipment and racking and ensuring MPI compliance, racking inspections, and fire safety standards and other certification requirements are kept current.
What You’ll Do
A typical day will see your core responsibilities to be determining operational priorities of the day and allocating tasks to team members, as well as managing other transport, supply chain or process issues that might come up. This is a time management aspect of the role to ensure your team are utilized in the most effective way. Operational priorities will be based largely on the following:
Inbound volume
Devanning containers or spares receipting ensures stock is available for resale and avoid unnecessary costs (e.g. storage or detention)
Processing returns to enable customers to get credits and the repair processes to get underway
Outbound volume
Meeting customer expectations including new items, spares and T2 dispatches
Achieving business volume requirements
Warehouse maintenance
Execution of the stock takes and cycle counting, based on the schedule agreed to with the Compliance Controller.
Stock rotation
Warehouse housekeeping and storage methods
Racking and equipment inspections and correcting
Other supply chain and warehousing considerations that need to be managed are:
Ensuring the transportation partners can handle the day’s volume requirements, both inbound and out bound
Ensuring other business requirements are met e.g. promotions, the monthly financial cycle
Liaising with suppliers and other teams to resolve issues that arise (e.g. lost parcels, damaged items, other discrepancies). This would include coding and approving invoices in line with company policy.
Investigating and resolving stock damage
Approving leave and validating time sheets
Providing reporting as required – This may include monthly operational reports, daily exception reports or ad hoc reporting
As a people lead, you will need to manage individual’s performance including the following:
Setting goals and monitoring progress towards them meeting with staff, managing their performance and productivity.
Organizing and supporting training for the staff:
Compliance (eg forklift)
Personal development
Company mandated training
Managing leave requests to ensure adequate cover in the team
Who You Are
You are an experienced Warehouse Supervisor with solid knowledge in a professional supply chain and logistics operation
You have proven ability in leading a team independently with minimal guidance
Confident in establishing KPIs for your team, ensuring they are met and addressing performance concerns that may arise
As a strong communicator you are able to manage expectations of leadership and various stakeholders
