Warehouse Supervisor – 1st Shift
The Warehouse Supervisor – 1st Shift is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of finished goods and materials. This position leads warehouse team members, maintains inventory accuracy, supports production and distribution schedules, and promotes a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse employees during the 1st shift or other shifts as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory control processes.
• Monitor workflow and staffing levels to meet production and customer service requirements.
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures, GMPs, and OSHA regulations.
• Conduct daily warehouse inspections and address safety concerns immediately.
• Train, coach, and develop warehouse personnel to improve performance and productivity.
• Complete employee performance evaluations and administer corrective action when necessary.
• Collaborate with production, transportation, maintenance, and customer service teams to ensure operational efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and shipping errors.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Maintain accurate warehouse records and reports using warehouse management systems and company software.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and organization throughout the warehouse.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Participate in department meetings and communicate company objectives to team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of warehouse experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment preferred.
• Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment.
• Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, and reach as needed.
