Warehouse Specialist

Location: Patuxent River, MD
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $25.00 Hourly

General Summary:

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, organizing, inventorying, and shipping materials and equipment. This role ensures the efficient handling of warehouse materials while maintaining safety, accuracy, and organization within the facility.

Principles, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify accuracy against purchase orders and manifests.
  • Unload, unpack, and inspect materials for damage or discrepancies.
  • Store and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick, pack, label, and stage materials for shipment or distribution.
  • Load outgoing shipments onto trucks and secure materials for safe transport.
  • Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of warehouse equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse protocols.
  • Support additional warehouse and logistics tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous warehouse or distribution center experience preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, or similar equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials on a regular basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects regularly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
