Summary

The Warehouse Person is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling, storage, and movement of food products within the distribution center. This role involves performing tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, picking, and packing orders, and ensuring that all activities comply with food safety, quality, and health and safety standards.

Shift Time: Monday - Friday | 6:00am - 2:00pm

Location: Mississauga

Pay Rate: $25.11/hr

Primary Responsibilities

• Receiving & Shipping: Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments accurately, verifying quantities and inspecting for damages.
• Order Picking & Packing: Accurately pick and stage products according to work orders or pick lists. Ensure correct labeling and packaging for outbound shipments.
• Stock Handling: Move, organize, and rotate inventory using pallet jacks or forklifts. Maintain accurate stock placement using FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
• Food Safety Compliance: Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation protocols, and allergen controls to maintain product safety and integrity.
• Inventory Support: Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Report discrepancies or damaged goods to the supervisor.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, sanitizing, and disposing of waste as required.
• Safety & Equipment Use: Operate equipment (e.g., forklifts, reach trucks, RF scanners) safely and in accordance with company policies. Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations and timely fulfillment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of warehouse experience; experience working in cold storage or food manufacturing preferred.
• Valid forklift or reach truck certification required.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food handling standards specific to temperature-controlled environments.
• Ability to work in cold temperatures (-20°C/-4°F to 5°C/41°F) for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Computer skills: experience with inventory systems (e.g., SAP, ERP, WMS) is an asset.
