Job Description

Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop.

Warehouse Receiver
Full-Time Hourly – Starting Range $18.40-$22.95 Per Hour
Experience Preferred
Must be 18 Years Old

A Warehouse Receiver is responsible for the receipt of product in a timely matter and keeping order in the warehouse. Maintaining a clean and orderly environment. As well as placing each order in the designated areas of the warehouse. The products are unloaded and reviewed for accuracy in the purchase orders. Review expected deliveries for the day on the dock schedule and rotating products in the freezer as needed.

Your day-to-day:
• Review invoice and purchase orders before unloading each truck to make sure they match
• Unloading and breakdown of product from incoming deliveries
• Ensuring the product is complying with COOL laws and that it is accurate in quantities and not damaged in the transfer
• Filling out purchase orders and returns to the receiving office
• Fill out manifest based on what was received or loaded and return to receiving office
• Keeping the warehouse/work areas clean and clear of any abstract
• Safely operate a forklift, reach truck, walkie rider, and other equipment used daily my receivers
• The scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands
What you bring to the team:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English
• Good organizational skills
• Basic math skills
• The ability to multi-task

Working Conditions:
• Being that the products are highly perishable the freezer is kept at a certain temperature
• The noise level is generally above the normal level due to the HVAC system
• The position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, squatting and reaching with a maximum of 110lbs
