Job Description

The Warehouse Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing improvements to warehouse processes that increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance safety. This role works closely with warehouse operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current warehouse processes, material flows, layouts, and systems to identify improvement opportunities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and standard work principles
  • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize productivity, cost, capacity, quality, and service levels
  • Design and standardize warehouse processes, work instructions, and performance metrics (KPIs)
  • Conduct time studies, process mapping (VSM), root cause analysis, and data analysis
  • Support warehouse layout changes, slotting optimization, and material handling improvements
  • Collaborate with operations, IT, maintenance, safety, and management teams to implement solutions
  • Support implementation and optimization of WMS and other warehouse-related systems
  • Train warehouse teams on new processes, tools, and standard work
  • Monitor results and ensure sustainability of improvements
  • Support safety, quality, and compliance initiatives within the warehouse

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing process improvement
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Lean Warehousing principles
  • Experience with process mapping, KPI development, and data analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization tools is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Experience with automation, material handling equipment, or robotics
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
