The Role & Your Impact

As an Operator in the Culture Packaging area, you will be responsible for supporting warehouse and freezer operations in an ultra-cold environment. You will ensure materials are accurately stored, tracked, packaged, and prepared for shipment while maintaining inventory integrity and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurately pick products by item, batch, and quantity from ultra-cold storage locations.
  • Transport, store, rotate, and consolidate inventory to optimize freezer capacity.
  • Update inventory transactions and freezer locations within SAP.
  • Perform cycle counts, maintain inventory accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Package finished products and fulfill sample requests from frozen inventory.
  • Load, unload, and organize materials, packaging supplies, and freezer trailers.
  • Verify freezer trailers are operating correctly and maintaining safe temperatures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment, including ice removal and adherence to air-lock procedures.
  • Support shipping preparation activities, including palletizing, wrapping, labeling, and shipment staging.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, Kosher, and Halal requirements.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

Required qualifications and skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including metric weight and volume conversions.
  • Ability to read and follow production documents and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work safely in an ultra-cold freezer environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally with assistance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Safety-focused mindset and ability to follow established procedures.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • SAP or ERP system experience.
  • Pallet walker and/or forklift operating experience.
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, or material handling.
  • Familiarity with shipping, packaging, and warehouse logistics.
  • Experience working in temperature-controlled or cold-storage environments.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools for equipment assembly and disassembly.

Ways of Working / Working Conditions

This position is primarily based in an ultra-cold freezer environment, with approximately 80% of the workday spent in temperatures around-55°C (-67°F) and approximately 20% of the workday in ambient warehouse conditions.

The role includes:

  • Shift: 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
  • Extended periods of standing and physical activity.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching.
  • Regular handling of materials and inventory movement activities.
  • Pulling trolleys weighing up to 940 lbs.
  • Exposure to cold temperatures, humidity, dust, noise, moving equipment, airborne particles, and warehouse traffic.
  • Work in confined areas and on potentially slippery surfaces.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment, including ultra-cold freezer clothing, gloves, boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety footwear.
  • Strict adherence to safety procedures, contamination prevention requirements, and air-lock protocols.
