Job Title: Warehouse Operative (Seasonal – 6 Month Contract)

Location: Bekesbourne

Department: Operations

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Salary: £10.85 - £12.71 per hour

The Warehouse Operative supports the day-to-day running of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient handling of goods, accurate order fulfilment, and timely dispatch. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, this role is responsible for picking, packing, shipping, stock control, and maintaining a safe and organised warehouse environment.

This is a seasonal 6-month position, aligned to periods of increased operational demand.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations

• Accurately pick products against order requirements using pick lists or handheld systems

• Pack goods securely and appropriately for shipment, ensuring protection and presentation standards

• Prepare shipments, including labelling, documentation, and booking with couriers

• Load and unload deliveries, checking goods in against purchase orders

Stock Management

• Assist with regular stock takes and cycle counts

• Maintain accurate stock records and report discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager

• Ensure correct storage and organisation of inventory within the warehouse

Logistics & Dispatch

• Coordinate daily dispatch activities to meet customer delivery expectations

• Work with internal teams to prioritise urgent or time-sensitive shipments

• Support returns handling and reverse logistics processes

Warehouse Standards & Compliance

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

• Adhere to health and safety policies and manual handling guidelines

• Ensure all equipment and tools are used safely and correctly

Support to Warehouse Manager

• Assist with general warehouse administration and operational tasks

• Provide updates on stock levels, order progress, and issues

• Support process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment (preferred)

• Experience with picking, packing, and dispatch processes

• Basic IT skills (e.g. stock systems, scanners, or Microsoft tools)

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, operational environment

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Proactive and willing to support across multiple warehouse functions

• Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling tasks

• Flexible approach to workload, particularly during peak periods
