Job Title: Warehouse Operative (Medical Device Industry)
Department: Supply Chain / Logistics
Location: Dublin 11
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Manager
The Warehouse Operative plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient handling of medical devices within the warehouse environment. This includes receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching products in line with industry regulations and company quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Goods Inwards
Receive deliveries of medical devices and materials.
Check documentation (delivery notes, certificates, batch/lot numbers) for accuracy.
Conduct visual inspections for damage or contamination.
Record receipts in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP.
2. Storage & Inventory Control
Store goods in designated, temperature‑controlled or segregated areas as required.
Maintain accurate stock levels through regular cycle counts.
Ensure FEFO/FIFO is followed for all medical device inventory.
Update all stock movements in the WMS.
3. Order Picking & Packing
Pick orders accurately using handheld scanners or manual pick lists.
Pack medical devices securely, following sterile or non‑sterile handling guidelines.
Label all items correctly with batch, serial, and compliance information.
4. Dispatch
Prepare shipments for customers, hospitals, distributors, or production.
Complete shipping documentation such as packing lists or courier manifests.
Ensure shipment integrity and traceability before dispatch.
5. Compliance & Quality
Adhere to ISO 13485, GDP, GMP, and company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Support audits (internal, external, notified body).
Report non‑conformances, damaged goods, or stock discrepancies.
Follow all health and safety protocols.
6. Equipment & Work Area Maintenance
Operate warehouse equipment (pallet trucks, forklifts if certified).
Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance in all warehouse areas.
Help control waste and recycling processes.
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail (critical for batch/lot traceability).
Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, and regulated processes.
Good computer literacy (ERP, WMS, Microsoft Office).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
Previous warehouse or logistics experience.
Ability to lift and move products safely.
Desirable:
Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or regulated industry.
Forklift or PPT license.
Experience with scanning or ERP systems (NAV, DYNAMICS 365 etc.).
Physical & Working Conditions
Standing, walking, lifting up to 25 kg.
Working in temperature‑controlled or clean‑storage areas.
Use of PPE when required.
