Job Description

Warehouse Operations Assistant — M-KOPA Ghana

Every smartphone that reaches an M-KOPA customer starts somewhere. It arrives in a warehouse, gets configured to spec, quality-checked, logged, and dispatched — before it ends up in the hands of someone who's using it to run a business, stay connected, or access financial services for the very first time. That process sounds simple. Done well, at volume, day after day, it's anything but.

If you're looking for an opportunity where you can learn by doing, build strong work habits, and be part of a team that keeps things moving behind the scenes — this is worth your attention.

M-KOPA is looking for a Warehouse Operations Assistant to join our Logistics and Warehouse Operations team. This is a junior, entry-level role designed for individuals who are early in their working journey — whether you've just finished school or have some exposure to a similar environment and want to build practical experience.

This is a hands-on, operational role at the heart of our supply chain — and it's the kind of opportunity that gives you real insight into how a fast-growing business runs on a day-to-day basis.

What M-KOPA is building

We've served more than 7 million customers across Africa, unlocking over $2 billion in credit. 55% of those customers are accessing formal financial services for the very first time. 86% report a meaningful improvement in their quality of life. We're growing toward 10 million customers — and every device that flows through our warehouse is a step in that direction.

Our product portfolio includes smartphones, digital loans, device protection, health insurance, and mobile data. The warehouse operation that supports all of this isn't a background function. It's the link between what we offer and what our customers actually receive.

What the work actually looks like

Your primary focus will be setting up PAYGO phones accurately and efficiently — following approved steps and processes to ensure every device is ready before it reaches the sales team. The daily target is 300 units prepared for sale. This requires focus, consistency, and attention to detail, and it's where you'll build strong operational discipline.

Beyond device setup, you'll support order processing and dispatch activities, helping to ensure the right stock reaches the right place at the right time. You'll assist with maintaining accurate stock records — tracking Current Stock, Stock in Channel, and Total Sales — and monitor devices using M-KOPA's internal systems.

You'll also help compile production data and support basic operational reporting so the wider team can understand how the warehouse is performing.

Keeping your workstation clean, following 6S housekeeping standards, and adhering to safety, health, and environmental protocols are part of the role from day one. Proper use of PPE, taking care of company equipment, and working safely with your team are all essential.

This role involves structured, process-driven tasks that require consistency and reliability — and it’s a great environment to build discipline, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.

What makes you ready for this

  • You’ve recently completed school (Matric) or have some early work experience, ideally in a warehouse, retail, or similar hands-on environment

  • You’re willing to learn, take direction, and build practical skills in a structured working environment

  • You have good attention to detail and can follow processes accurately, especially when working on tasks that require consistency and focus

  • You’re comfortable using basic computer systems or are open to learning

  • You’re dependable, take responsibility for your work, and work well as part of a team

What you'll take away

This role is about building a strong foundation

You'll gain practical exposure to how a warehouse operates in a fast-paced business. You'll understand how stock management connects to sales performance. You'll learn the importance of accuracy, consistency, and teamwork in an operational environment.

Most importantly, you'll develop workplace habits and experience that can open doors into logistics, supply chain, retail operations, or broader business roles over time

If you're starting out and looking for an opportunity to gain real experience, learn valuable skills, and be part of something meaningful — this is a strong place to begin.
