Job Description
Pay Range: $90,000/yr. – $120,000/yr. based on experience and qualifications
The Site Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, storage, and material flow throughout the facility. This role serves as the primary owner of inventory accuracy and ensures efficient movement, storage, and control of frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, shipping, and material movement.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and serve as the site owner for inventory management processes.
- Manage the receipt, storage, and handling of raw materials and finished goods while ensuring compliance with allergen, species, and lot code segregation requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels, trigger points, and replenishment activities to support uninterrupted production.
- Lead and oversee the cycle count program, including A/B/C inventory classifications, to maintain inventory accuracy above 98.5%.
- Ensure accurate and timely material transfers and inventory transactions within the ERP system.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, develop, and motivate a high-performing warehouse team focused on safety, quality, accuracy, and operational excellence.
- Establish clear performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and support to warehouse personnel to ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Serve as the warehouse Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the ERP system.
- Maintain accurate system data related to inventory records, material movement, and location binning.
- Lead warehouse-related system testing and validation activities associated with Microsoft and ERP updates.
- Partner with IT and Operations teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize system workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, efficiency, inventory control, and communication across departments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Procurement and Logistics teams to coordinate inbound deliveries using scheduling tools such as Open Dock.
- Ensure compliance with local truck management requirements and established town by-laws.
- Partner with Production Scheduling to ensure adequate warehouse storage capacity during peak production periods.
- Support customer service objectives by maintaining inventory and shipment accuracy that contributes to greater than 99.0% case fill rates and 98.5% order fill rates.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Ensure warehouse operations meet GMP, SQF, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized and compliant dry storage, cooler, and freezer areas.
- Conduct and maintain monthly racking inspections and communicate findings to the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or operations management.
- Experience leading, supervising, coaching, and developing hourly employees.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control practices, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience within a food manufacturing or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Inventory Management Systems.
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese highly preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS & ENVIRONMENT
- This position requires the ability to withstand working in a cold environment and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must have good vision and manual dexterity.
- Able to sit / stand for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
- This position is a day shift role; however, hours may extend beyond the typical workday.
- The noise level in the office environment is typically moderate.
- Company provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be worn while on the production floor
