Responsible for managing and directing all aspects of assigned departments in a fast-paced Warehouse Distribution Center to ensure customer service levels are met through the company and department objectives of accuracy, quality, productivity and staffing. Responsible for managing and coordinating departmental operations in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Also responsible for projecting and managing the annual department budget and staffing plans; development and management of staff; and communicating new procedures, programs and/or policies. Serves as a liaison with other departments.
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts for staffing and equipment needs which includes analysis, recommendations, and requests for new and/or upgraded systems to attain optimum department efficiency.
• Facilitate communication from the Director/VP to the Supervisors/Leads and front-line staff in the department.
• Set team goals (productivity, quality, leader growth, DC efficiencies, great place to work) in collaboration with executive management and other department leaders. Must be a positive catalyst for change and motivator to meet & exceed department objectives.
• Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse.
• Communicate and partner with other departments to ensure products are received/shipped in a timely manner.
• Monitor workplace performance and leader training initiatives.
• Resolve any logistical challenges (inbound or outbound) by communicating with vendors, transportation providers and other suppliers.
Required Skills:
• 3-5 years supervisory experience. Bachelors’ degree in related area preferred (Operations Management, Business Management, Logistics Distribution, etc.)
• Strong working knowledge of distribution center operations, workflow and staffing experience. Previous Warehouse Management experience helpful.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to motivate and encourage others
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving, prioritization and organization skills
• Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products and prefer knowledge of Lands’ End software systems.
• Knowledge of employment legal guidelines
