Job Description

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring optimal efficiency, accuracy, safety, and sustainability. This role leverages SAP WMS, IoT-enabled tracking, AI-driven analytics, and other advanced technologies to streamline processes, reduce costs, and support the company’s supply chain strategy. The manager leads a diverse team, fosters continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with all organizational policies and applicable laws.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management & Resource Optimization: Prepare, maintain, and optimize the yearly department budget using predictive analytics and SAP WMS cost tracking tools. Monitor operational expenses in real time to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Digital Shipping & Receiving Operations: Process all shipping and receiving orders at the plant and outside warehouses using SAP WMS integrated with IoT-enabled scanning devices, ensuring real-time data capture, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Team Leadership & Workforce Development: Manage warehouse employees and cross-functional teams, fostering a productive, inclusive, and tech-savvy work environment. Provide ongoing training in automation systems, SAP WMS and safety protocols.
  • Facility & Safety Management: Maintain distribution warehouses in a neat, orderly, and safe condition, leveraging smart sensors for environmental monitoring and automated alerts for safety compliance.
  • Cost Reduction & Process Improvement: Work to reduce logistics costs through automation, optimization & labor planning.
  • Data-Driven Reporting: Create and distribute advanced distribution reports for the Production and Planning Manager using SAP analytics dashboards, ensuring timely and actionable insights.
  • Compliance & HR Coordination: Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure completion of digital onboarding, training, and performance review processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Attend management meetings and contribute to strategic planning, bringing insights from warehouse analytics and operational trends.
  • Inventory Accuracy & Cycle Counts: Conduct cycle counts upon request using SAP and potentially RFID-enabled tracking to ensure real-time inventory accuracy.
  • Shipping & Warehousing Coordination: Coordinate all shipping and warehousing requirements for all departments, integrating SAP WMS/EWM with transportation management systems (TMS) for seamless logistics.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5–7 years of warehouse management experience, including multi-site operations.
  • Proven expertise in SAP WMS or another related WMS.
  • Familiarity with IoT devices, RFID tracking, and predictive analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage change in a technology-driven environment.
