Warehouse Manager

We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, inventory accuracy, and exceptional service delivery. This role is responsible for overseeing warehouse staff, fleet coordination, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and operational processes while driving productivity and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment, leads by example, and brings a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Distribution

  • Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, and deliveries
  • Ensure merchandise is received, stored, and distributed accurately and efficiently
  • Supervise routing, loading, and delivery preparation to meet customer expectations and delivery timelines
  • Manage inter-company inventory transfers and associated documentation
  • Maintain warehouse organization and optimize layout for operational efficiency
  • Resolve delivery and service-related issues quickly and professionally

Inventory Management

  • Lead inventory control processes, including cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, and transaction accuracy
  • Monitor back orders and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Ensure inventory integrity and minimize shrinkage
  • Evaluate inventory processes and implement improvements where needed

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse personnel and supervisory staff
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable
  • Conduct regular team meetings, safety meetings, and performance discussions
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on service, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee development

Fleet & Safety Management

  • Oversee company delivery vehicles, including preventive maintenance scheduling and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure forklift and delivery operators maintain required certifications and operate safely
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and proactively address unsafe conditions
  • Maintain warehouse security and minimize operational risk

Operational Performance

  • Manage department performance against service, efficiency, and budget goals
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational enhancements
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams to support business objectives
  • Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and compliance documentation

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of warehouse leadership or distribution management experience preferred
  • Experience in wholesale distribution strongly preferred
  • Prior inventory control and logistics management experience required
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience required
  • Product knowledge within HVAC, plumbing, building materials, or industrial distribution is a plus
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices, inventory systems, and operational workflows
  • Experience managing delivery fleet operations preferred
