Job Description

A Day In The Life

The Warehouse Team lead acts as a backup to the supervisor of this busy team in an electronics manufacturing company in Westbury. The experienced lead will support the training of other warehouse associates and provide support and guidance to keep the operation moving efficiently.

Must be able to operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts to safely unload carriers.

Capable of inspecting deliveries for damages, and discrepancies.

Experience in inventory management, storekeeping, and stockroom operations for handling mechanical and electrical components.

Working knowledge of computer programs for the receipt of purchased goods.

Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.

Pick and pack sales orders, work orders and kits for production floor daily.

The ability to work independently and to train and oversee the work of other warehouse associates.

Serves as a back-up to the Warehouse Supervisor.

What will help you thrive in this role?

High school diploma or equivalent

3-5 years of previous warehouse or stockroom experience

Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations

Good communication skills for interfacing with carriers, internal customers & management

Must be able to lift or pull objects up to 50+ lbs. with or without accommodation

Team oriented attitude

Experience using ERP systems, MS Word, MS Excel, outlook and email

Works well with others to assist in their job duties and train as required

Compensation is $22-25/hour DOE
