At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), the Warehouse Lead keep operations moving, organizing workflow, supporting the team, and ensuring every job gets done right. From managing daily tasks to developing employees, you’ll play a hands-on role in driving efficiency and growth.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations & Maintenance

  • Maintenance of building and grounds, receiving, storing, picking delivering, and shipping materials
  • Maintains the appearance of the warehouse in a safe and orderly manner
  • Maintains a full understanding of all products by identification, weight, and size
  • Verifies truck loads
  • Maintains a basic knowledge of trucks, forklifts, and other equipment to determine necessary repairs
  • Has an overall knowledge of activities within the team and be able to identify and recommends corrective action for any problem areas
  • Maintains a high level of customer focus

Safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
  • Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
  • Use proper lifting techniques
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervises direct reports (1-3) to ensure that duties and responsibilities required of a warehouse assistant are accurate, timely and executed to company standards

Customer Service & Sales

  • Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships
  • Professional and courteous ongoing contact with customers before, during and after a sale

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
  • Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or other similar equipment for multiple hours a day
  • Learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles and must understand and be able to use miscellaneous tools and equipment, including but not limited to: dollies, flat carts, and rock carts
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds, using proper lifting procedures; and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying greater weights. Pushing and pulling carts loaded carts over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team
  • Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned

Additional Responsibilities & Miscellaneous

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operations and corporate objectives

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent work experience and/or training
  • Preferred building supply warehouse and supervisory experience
  • The Warehouse Supervisor must have an understanding and knowledge of operating a forklift

Compensation and Benefits

Reports ToBranch Manager Compensation

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

  • Base: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
  • Total Compensation (Base + Bonus): The successful candidate could reasonably expect a Total Compensation Package in the range of $45,760 - $58,240
  • Equity: This role is not eligible for equity opportunities, awards or grants.
