Food Safety Role & Responsibility:

As an employee, the incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, HACCP, facility security, visitor policy and mandatory safety training.

The Production lead is responsible for the day-to-day operations for all lines in their area while meeting and exceeding all safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Job Function Statements – Essential Functions:

  1. Communicate and understand Production schedule.
  2. Communicate all scheduling concerns to Production Supervisor
  3. Ensure that all production lines are staffed properly.
  4. Ensure that all lines are setup properly with correct product, COOL labeling and correct packaging information as required.
  5. Coordinate changeovers with PMO's, Lift operators, dryer deck and case erector operators when required.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  7. Ensure that the products are safe and meet the customer specifications.
  8. Communicate quality issues of raw product to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Responsible for monitoring packaging lines in order to ensure correct quantities are produced without overruns.
  10. Communicate mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
  11. Responsible for the proper and accurate completion of hourly documentation.
  12. Follow and complete the daily production schedule, including changes that may occur during the course of the shift.
  13. Responsible for meeting machine efficiency and effectiveness which is measured in downtime percentage, bags per minute and process failures.
  14. Must be able to meet daily production standards.
  15. Assist in performing new hire orientation training and ensure that they are able to demonstrate competencies in all work areas.
  16. Responsible for the validation of all carton barcode scanning.
  17. Ensure the accuracy of all PMO paperwork.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

1. Speak and read English.

2. Must pass drug test and background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Able to lift 25+ lbs.

2. Stand for the duration of the shift (10 hours or more)

3. Bend continuously throughout the shift

4. Able to work in a noisy, wet and cold environment of approximately 36 degrees Fahrenheit

5. Perform repetitive motions for the duration of the shift

6. Able to reach with hands and arms to check product
