This position assists the Warehouse Manager in direct monitoring of daily activities within the Warehouse, providing hands-on guidance and direction to the team, enforcing safety and quality service related to the cargo receiving and shipping operation. QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Minimum three (3) years of previous experience working in a warehouse.
  • Minimum two (2) year of experience in a senior or lead role, providing guidance and direction to a team in a warehouse or industrial setting, to include safety matters and operational procedures.
  • Experience operating a forklift per OSHA standards. Authorization to operate heavy equipment will be provided by the company.
  • A valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to communicate (read and write) effectively at an intermediate level in English
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Office (Word and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative
  • Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and constantly changing operational environment
  • Must have the ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and employee relations.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and must provide attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees
  • Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays and/or extended hours as needed.

Preferred

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate (read and write) effectively at an intermediate level in Spanish

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary

  • Perform all functions in accordance with operation and safety guidelines
  • Monitor daily operations, assisting manager in the directions of the day-to-day activities of the warehouse.
  • Assist in the analysis of workload of all given areas and allocates personnel to areas needed.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and direction to the team with safety matters, inspections and with operational procedures.
  • Enforce safety and quality service related to the cargo receiving and shipping operations.
  • Support the transload, deconsolidation and domestic carrier loading team to execute operating processes and procedures and to meet customer and internal service standards.
  • Handles receiving and shipping documents and assists in the data entry to the system capturing customer and company defined information.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Compiles bill of ladings and/or dock receipts from customer specifications.Prepares necessary paperwork (i.e. dock receipts) as needed for shipments including obtaining signatures from Customs
  • Checks and arranges for regular maintenance of forklift. Changes propane tanks.
  • Report relevant issues to management in a timely manner, to include electrical and/or mechanical difficulties.
  • Informs manager of the need for additional or replacement equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Prepare and present reports (safety, inventory, etc.) as needed
  • Assist in providing support and service to the customer.
  • Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings (i.e. vehicles, people checking equipment, etc.) at all times

Secondary

  • Work closely with management and Jacintoport team for efficient product storage and warehouse space utilization.
  • Assure RF (Radio Frequency) system is operational
  • Perform other related task as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Subject to physical and/or DOT screening is required along with other tests as applicable
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit (while driving), grasp and exercise eye-hand coordination and eye-hand-foot coordination
  • The employee is frequently required to grasp, exercise repetitive wrist motion, and finger movement
  • The employee is frequently required to talk and hear
  • The employee is continuously required to stand, walk and exercise repetitive foot motion
  • The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, bend forward, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, pinch and reach overhead
  • The employee must or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Report safety hazards

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives direct supervision from the Miami Warehouse Manager and provides guidance and direction over various employee groups to which he/she will be assigned. CONDITIONS

  • Exposure to all possible environmental factors such as extreme heat, rain, wind and high humidity during day and night shifts
  • The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
  • The employee is continuously exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
  • Moderate vibration with use of hydraulic seating system
