About the role:
This role interfaces with dynamic transactions/operations with a wide range of inbound and outbound activities both physical and SAP movements, plus the complexity of reverse Logistics that requires maximum attention.
The role serves stakeholders with varying interests and requires appropriate reporting of inventory KPIs for informed decision making in different aspects of the Business. This also implies a high level of inventory accuracy and controls compliance.
This position provides direction and leadership to material and finished goods warehousing teams, responsible for goods receipts, issuing, stock counts and reconciliations plus all relevant reporting.
The role seeks to partner closely with Packaging and Blending team, Imports & Export, Customer service, Third party contractors, Planning and Procurement, Governance and Security plus all the Logistics sections.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management & Quality Control
Monitor inventory levels, stock aging, First In First Out(FIFO) management, batch picking alignment, SLOBs and expiries management.
2. Coordination and planning
Implement warehouse capacity planning and space optimization, with daily operations set up review and layout configuration to deliver key performance indicators.
3. Inventory reconciliations
Reconcile stocks (system Vs physical), document variance explanations, and enforce the inventory accuracy requirement.
4. Warehouse Safety
Ensure warehouse space meets HSE standards with right tools of work, toolbox talks for shop floor teams, hazard identification, PPE compliance and safety walk abouts (spot and correct).
5. Controls and Compliance
Doing Business the right way, real time and accurate system postings, tracking daily stock movements and timely reconciliation.
6. Warehouse Hygiene
As guided by Governance and adherence with all relevant quality standards in line with Food protection and defence.
7. Audits
Ownership of audits both internal and external and accountable for action closure.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
· Degree or equivalent experience in Business Commerce, Business Administration or an equivalent with good accounting knowledge.
· Supply chain knowledge
· >5 years hands-on experience in inventory management and reconciliation preferably in an FMCG environment.
· Super User of SAP
· Experience in overall Logistics operations is an added advantage.
