Leads the Warehouse Team Leaders in managing, operating and controlling all physical flows to, within and from the site(s). Manages the teams and process effectiveness of receiving operations, transport organising and planning, warehouse operations, management of physical inventory, internal logistics and outbound operations.

Ensures Logistics team execute activities within site, national and international regulations where applicable.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures safe working environment.
  • Manages the team based on Employee Involvement principles
  • Manages the workload of the area (receiving, shipping, internal movements, warehouse) and optimise the allocated resources.
  • Defines and set up the physical organisation of warehouses within site(s)
  • Organises and control the internal transportation of material in order to assure the best service level and cost.
  • Is interface between supply chain and production at shop floor level ensuring material movement is in accordance with operational expectations.
  • Develops and optimises all physical and information flows using Lean principles (including company owned external warehouses).
  • Manages and controls the transactional flow for all physical flows.
  • Ensures actual inventory accuracy and reliability (FIFO and Cycle counting etc)
  • Overseas all Logistics processes in adherence within regulatory frameworks especially with regard to International trade and compliance
  • Manages inbound and outbound freight with external providers, suppliers and customers.
  • The Logistics Group Leader is responsible for the following APQC items in the relevant site(s):
  • 4.4 Manage logistics and warehousing
  • 4.4.2 “Plan and manage inbound material flow”
  • 4.4.3 “Operate warehousing”
  • 4.4.4 “Operate outbound transportation”
  • 4.4.5 “Manage returns; manage reverse logistics”
  • 4.4.6 “Plan material handling and storage”
  • 4.4.7 “Manage inventory storage, location and movement”
  • 4.4.9 “Manage kitting operations

Job Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain).
  • 5-9+ years of warehouse or distribution center experience.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and best practices (OSHA or local equivalents).
  • Inventory management and cycle counting experience.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks); certification may be required.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate team members.
