Job Description
Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Warehouse Associate to support ship repair and shipbuilding operations in a fast-paced industrial shipyard environment. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and transporting materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with company and government property control procedures. This role supports both commercial and U.S. Navy projects and offers opportunities for continued project assignments based on performance and contract demand.
Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, unload, and verify inbound materials against purchase orders and shipping documentation.
Store, label, organize, and issue materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and warehouse organization.
Pull, stage, package, and prepare materials for delivery to production areas or outbound shipment.
Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to safely load, unload, and transport materials throughout the shipyard.
Process material transfers, returns, credits, and shipping documentation, including freight manifests and associated paperwork.
Research inventory using computerized inventory management systems to locate materials and fulfill requests.
Support physical inventory counts, stock reconciliation, and property accountability activities.
For Government Furnished Material (GFM), maintain property records, prepare required government documentation, issue material through approved systems, and deliver material using proper government procedures.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of warehouse, material handling, logistics, or inventory experience in a shipyard, industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
Experience receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and shipping materials while maintaining inventory accuracy.
Ability to identify materials by grade, specification, contract, or part number.
Current or ability to obtain certification to operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Working knowledge of computerized inventory and warehouse management systems.
Ability to prepare shipping documents, freight manifests, material transfer paperwork, and government property forms.
Ability to read work specifications, follow written procedures, perform basic mathematical calculations, and communicate effectively in English.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience supporting U.S. Navy ship repair or new construction programs.
Experience handling Government Furnished Material (GFM) and government property control procedures.
OSHA 10 Maritime or OSHA 10 certification.
Experience using ERP, inventory management, or warehouse tracking software.
Knowledge of CLIN close-out documentation and government material accountability processes.
Additional Information
Work is performed in active shipyard and shipboard environments supporting Navy and commercial repair operations. The role may require accessing vessels, warehouses, industrial areas, and production work zones. PPE is required when entering shipyard or shipboard spaces in accordance with site safety policies. Respiratory protection may be required based on task or location. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned work locations. Work schedules may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and variable shifts based on production and project requirements.
