We are looking to add an Operations and Training Specialist to our team in Olive Branch, MS!

The Operations Specialist is a key contributor in resolving issues and optimizing warehouse processes to ensure the efficient, timely delivery of products and services to our customers. This role requires a deep understanding of warehouse systems and operational best practices, with a proven track record of driving impactful improvements. The ideal candidate will also play a crucial role in mentoring team members and developing training materials and procedures that support sustained operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities (~50%)

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve operational issues in real-time to maintain workflow and meet customer requirements within the distribution center.
  • Role model the PIP values and behaviors as a senior member of the operations team.
  • Monitor warehouse process controls and performance metrics to ensure that operational processes meet or exceed established standards and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including continuous improvement, operations, logistics, and customer service, to ensure alignment and coordination of operational activities.
  • Participate in operational improvement projects, from planning and implementation to monitoring and evaluation. Lead activities within project plans to ensure timely completion and to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings, projects, and other site activities that promote operational excellence.

Training and Development Responsibilities (~50%)

  • Support the site training leader by identifying training needs and requirements and translating them into training documents that will support employee development.
  • Support the site training leader in delivering training programs focused on site operations and workflow.
  • Participate in the creation, review, and improvement of training documents, SOPs, and site-specific procedures.
  • Support new hire orientation sessions and help acclimate new hires
  • Function as a subject matter expert by sharing insights on best practices, training needs, and operational improvements.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to employees, offering guidance on standard operating procedures, safety practices, and productivity techniques.

Core Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with a focus on process improvement and warehouse IT systems optimization.
  • Associates degree, preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse management software packages including Eclipse.
  • Willingness to mentor and coach others
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coach and mentor effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment in which temperature can vary from extreme heat to extreme cold in the elements of rain and snow and noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • Candidate will be required to stand and walk frequently as well as bend, sit, lift/carry, reach, and push/pull occasionally
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds
