The Distribution Warehouse Associate II is an Operations position responsible for reviewing the activities associated with day-to-day warehouse operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, product receiving, product shipping and product replenishment, ensuring safety and security of the warehouse and providing management and direction to warehouse staff as needed The Warehouse II associate acts as a support role for the lead and the supervisor of the department, setting an example and assisting in training that supports a change on systems or operations in the Roasting Plant and Distribution Center. This position reports to the department Team Manager
What You Will Do:
Ability to perform all warehouse activities, including but not limited to, pick, pack, ship, receive, put-away, cycle count, and inventory audit Deliver and execute business initiatives as directed by the leadership team.
Schedule and coordinate deliveries with transportation representatives.
Research inventory discrepancies for dock and transfers and PO receipts.
Ability to utilize various pieces of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including pallet movers, stand up forklifts, high lift reach trucks, and order picker.
Ability to utilize RF scanners to electronically perform warehouse activities
Conducts receiving and location audits daily ensuring all required receiving documentation is accurately completed and that material is checked in and stored correctly with a minimum potential for loss.
High level proficiency in utilizing PC-based WMS to perform all warehouse activities including, but not limited to, outbound process, inbound process, and inventory control.
Proactively communicate with the lead & the supervisor regarding Associate’s performance and work with the department.
Assists in associate relations through regular department or pre- shift meetings; maintains on-going interaction; keeps open communication with internal and external channels.
Ensure that all departmental targets as well as quality, execution and standards are met while delegating and prioritizing tasks and responsibilities to the department.
Be a resource for all Associates.
Who You Are:
Continuous standing/walking in a warehouse environment throughout an 8 hour day or more
Push, pull, squat, bend and reach to stack, carry, lift and pick product throughout an 8 hour day or more
Lifting of 20 lbs., frequent lifting of 25-40 lbs. and occasional lifting of 50 lbs or more
Stacking of pallets and totes (20-50 lbs) up to 6 feet fall
Work Environment/Conditions:
Person in this position must be available to work Weekends, nights, overtime, holidays) to fulfill business needs
Noise level in this warehouse environment is frequently loud
A strong coffee scent is continuously present in this warehouse environment
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years old
Must be able to work in Microsoft Suit. (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately in English
Must be willing and able to work overtime as required, even on short notice
Proficient in safety procedures
Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Must have or be able to be powered industrial truck (forklift / electric pallet jack) certified
Demonstrated adherence to Peet’s standards, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize.
Demonstrated excellent communication and coaching skills.
