The Warehouse Associate supports safe, accurate and efficient warehouse operations. Responsibilities include receiving merchandise, storing inventory, picking and staging orders, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a clean and orderly facility.
The ideal candidate handles merchandise carefully, follows established procedures and works cooperatively with others to ensure accurate orders and customer satisfaction.
· Receive, inspect and verify incoming merchandise against receiving documents.
· Report merchandise damage, shortages, overages and other discrepancies.
· Unload, handle and store appliances and electronics using approved equipment and procedures.
· Pick, verify and stage merchandise for customer pickup, delivery and outbound shipping.
· Load trucks securely and carefully to prevent merchandise damage.
· Scan model and serial numbers using barcode readers and accurately enter inventory information.
· Follow inventory documentation procedures and first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices.
· Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
· Assist with handling damaged, returned and service-related merchandise.
· Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse, including docks and yards.
· Support recycling operations and properly dispose of packaging materials.
· Perform required equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
· Communicate professionally and courteously with coworkers, drivers and customers.
· Complete other warehouse assignments as directed.
The Warehouse Associate reports to the Warehouse Manager.
· Operating a sit-down forklift
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· At least one year of warehouse, shipping/receiving or logistics experience.
· Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately complete warehouse records.
· Basic computer and data-entry skills.
· Ability to work safely and cooperatively in a warehouse environment.
· Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including standing, walking, bending and moving merchandise with appropriate equipment and assistance.
· Valid California driver’s license.
· Forklift certification.
· Operating a carton or appliance clamp.
· Using barcode readers.
· Using POS systems.
· Handling appliances or other large merchandise.
· Driving a box truck with a manual transmission.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and be willing to undergo a criminal/theft background check.
Compensation: $20.50 per hour
