Job Description
We are looking for a talented Warehouse Associate to join our team specializing in Logistics for our CGL Operations Department in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways
- Ensuring accurate inventory management by receiving, inspecting, sorting, labeling, storing, and dispatching goods in line with established warehouse procedures and customer requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of quality by performing thorough checks for damages, discrepancies, and non-conforming materials, helping to reduce costs and improve operational accuracy.
- Supporting safe and compliant operations by adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, reporting hazards and incidents promptly, using appropriate PPE, and promoting a culture of workplace safety.
- Optimizing warehouse efficiency by organizing storage areas effectively, maximizing space utilization, and ensuring materials are easily accessible to support smooth operations.
- Meeting customer delivery expectations through accurate picking, packing, shipping, and system transactions while maintaining productivity standards and cycle-time requirements.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by actively identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, material flow, processes, and overall team effectiveness.
- Collaborating effectively with team members and support functions to resolve issues, maintain equipment, share knowledge, and achieve operational goals.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and productive work environment by completing housekeeping activities, operator care tasks, and demonstrating flexibility to support changing business needs.
To b successful in this role y ou will need the following:
- Strong Warehouse Operations Knowledge: Effectively utilize warehouse systems, tools, and best practices to support efficient inbound and outbound operations while consistently meeting performance and operational metrics.
- Red Prairie & PIV License Experience: Preferably possess working knowledge of the Red Prairie warehouse management system and hold a valid PIV License to support daily warehouse activities safely and effectively.
- Ensures Accountability: Take ownership of responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and hold yourself and others accountable for delivering high-quality results and meeting operational objectives.
- Commitment to Self-Development: Actively seek opportunities to learn, develop new skills, and expand knowledge through both formal training and on-the-job experiences to support continuous improvement and career growth.
Education/ Experience
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
