Job Summary

As a Production Technician II, based in our Houston, TX facility, you will play an essential role in the manufacturing and assembly of high-quality commercial products. Utilizing product specifications, blueprints, and standard operating procedures, you will operate and maintain production equipment to ensure efficient processing and assembly. Your attention to detail will contribute to meeting stringent quality standards and production targets. This position demands a proactive approach to identifying equipment problems, maintaining production records, and adhering to safety protocols including material handling and use of protective equipment. Reporting to a supervisor, you will work under moderate supervision while progressively mastering your area of expertise within a collaborative team environment, enhancing both your technical skills and professional growth. Typically, this role suits individuals with an associate degree in manufacturing technology or equivalent experience, complemented by 1-3 years in a related field.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up production equipment following prescribed specifications to manufacture and assemble products efficiently and accurately.
  • Utilize general hand and power tools including drill guns, hammers, and screwdrivers safely and effectively as part of your daily tasks.
  • Assemble component parts with precision, following in-depth training and work instructions to meet customer and quality requirements.
  • Perform powder coating and painting duties where applicable; experience in these areas is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Manage receiving and shipping responsibilities with great attention to detail, including checking inventories and ensuring correct sorting and timely dispatch of items.
  • Process incoming UPS and truck shipments accurately, verifying contents and ensuring appropriate storage and allocation within departments.
  • Operate warehouse machinery such as RF scanners, cherry pickers, and forklift trucks in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare daily orders efficiently to meet shipping deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Handle returns processing thoughtfully to ensure proper evaluation and reintegration or disposal of returned goods.
  • Coordinate shipping with carriers including UPS, FedEx, and LTL services, managing both domestic and international shipments with precision.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and demonstrate safe driving habits for occasional transportation duties.
  • Bring at least two years of warehouse experience, showcasing reliability and familiarity with warehouse operations and workflows.
  • Efficiently process orders using established procedures while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities with composure and speed.
  • Hold a High School diploma or equivalent credential indicating foundational knowledge and commitment to professional development.
  • Exhibit strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Successfully complete background checks and drug screening as part of our commitment to workplace safety and integrity.

Essential Job Function

Your essential job functions will include setting up, operating, and maintaining production machinery to support consistent manufacturing output. You will monitor production processes closely, identifying any deviations from quality standards and resolving issues promptly or escalating to supervisors when necessary. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of production activities is critical for operational transparency and continuous improvement. You are expected to follow all safety protocols rigorously, including proper use of protective equipment and adherence to material handling guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Flexibility in assisting with related warehouse activities such as shipment receipt and distribution, inventory management, and order fulfillment will be valued. Effective communication skills, teamwork, and a commitment to upholding company standards and values are integral to success in this dynamic role.
