Job Description

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are searching for an organized and detail-oriented storekeeper to assist in managing all of the daily operations of the Rock Springs plant storerooms in a fast-paced working environment. In this position, you’ll play a key role in the proper care and maintenance of plant stock, including issuing items to authorized personnel, shipping/receiving, recordkeeping, and managing inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue stock and non-stock materials and tools from inventory
• Initiate system receipts for exception items as directed by procurement
• Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of the stockroom
• Receive, unload, and shelve supplies
• Perform other stock-related duties, including returning, packing, and labeling supplies
• Continually count on-hand inventory and reconcile computer listing with on -hand stock
• Deliver ordered items to main office, lab, and occasional town runs
• Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control
• Assist with other duties as directed by lead storehouse person

Typical Education

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Relevant Experience

• 1 year of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or recordkeeping
• JD Edwards experience is preferred

Other Information

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management
• Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time
• Ability to safely and legally operate a forklift and a manual vehicle
• Skills to operate common office equipment
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to acquire and maintain forklift certification
• Physical ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 lbs as well as climb stairs regularly
