Part Time – 20 hours per week

The role:

We are currently looking for a ward clerk to join our team at Rivers Hospital to provide an efficient, professional, and confidential administrative service to the ward, supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality patient care. The Ward Clerk acts as a key point of contact for patients, relatives, consultants, clinical staff, and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate documentation, effective communication, and smooth ward operations.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Outstanding professional customer service and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cover the needs of the department/hospital
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn additional software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Previous experience of having worked in a hospital setting

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient records are accurately maintained and stored in accordance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Prepare and update patient documentation and admission packs.
  • Liaise with consultants, clinical teams, diagnostic departments, and external healthcare providers regarding patient appointments and information.
  • Coordinate ward stationery and office supply requirements.
  • Support with ward stock supplies
  • Arrange follow up appointments
  • Adhere to Ramsay Health Care policies, procedures, and standards
