The Department

Ward 4WB is a dynamic 28-bed inpatient ward providing care for general medical, orthopaedic and trauma patients. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care, supporting patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey. We foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement drive the best possible patient outcomes.

The Role

The Ward Clerk is an integral memeber of the 4WB team, engaging with patients, families, multidisciplinary team members, and other departments to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information throughout each admission and works closely with the Nursing Leadership Team to faciliate the timely coordination of patient admissions, dischargesm and transfers.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
  • Proficiency in computer systems and administrative tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Professional, adaptable, and patient-focused approach
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements

Desirable: Previous experience in healthcare or administrative setting and knowledge of patient admission, discharge and transfer processes.
