Priory Woodbourne has an opportunity for a Ward Clerk to join our team.
Priory Hospital Woodbourne, Edgbaston, Birmingham is a specialist inpatient and outpatient mental health service providing treatment for addictions and a range of mental health conditions, alongside assessments, therapy and psychiatry. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving Woodbourne Road and Five Ways railway station approximately 1–2 miles from the hospital.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.Prepare admission packs
- Record patient admissions and discharges on the relevant IT systems
- Arrange sick certificates for patients on admission and throughout their stay as required
- Obtain patient records from other hospitals as required
- Ensure that all communication is within the boundaries of patient confidentiality, and seek guidance when unsure
- Document information in accordance with Record keeping and Information Governance standards

What you'll bring to the role
Experience
- Experience in an administrative function previously, ideally in a similar setting, but not essential. Experience of dealing with other organisations
