What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Ward Clerk to join our Rehabilitation team, with a competitive salary range on offer, starting from £29,304.11 depending on experience.

The position will play a vital role in the overall patient’s journey and experience in the hospital. The postholder will contribute to the smooth running of procedure/operating theatre lists, assisting in administration processes, and assisting with patients/relatives’ enquiries in a courteous manner and respecting patients’ dignity and confidentiality.

This is a part-time role working 3 days a week from Monday to Friday covering 22.5 hours per week with several shift patterns.

Our 40-bed acute/rehabilitation unit has two dedicated therapy gyms and is designed for the best possible patient experience. Our team uses the latest specialist rehabilitation techniques, including cutting-edge robotic equipment and advanced exoskeletons, to help support our patients’ recovery. Within the floor our specialists deliver neurological and limb rehabilitation with advanced robotic devices that look at gross movement and fine dexterity movement. We can offer a higher intensity of therapy to work towards improved outcomes for patients. There is also a Bariatric Bed Room and an Isolation Bed Room to offer specialist facilities to enhance comfort and clinical care, and controlled air flow respectively.

What will your duties include?

  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, letter writing and dealing with telephone enquiries regarding all aspects of clinic activity.

  • Communicate with wards and departments with regards to the transfer of patients with the aim to continually improve on session start and finish times and turn round between patients.

  • Deal initially with any face to face or telephone complaints from patients or GPs and refer to advice as appropriate.

  • Provide point of contact and service for patient’s families. Liaise with Concierge, GPs, Security and similar service support teams to provide a seamless experience for all.

  • Update departmental time sheets and enter workforce hours on kronos/workday/relevant electronic system.

What we need from you?

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Highly refined verbal communication skills – a communicator who can deal with patients and next of kin from all over the world

  • Good keyboard and IT skills including Microsoft Office

  • Previous experience in a private hospital preferred

  • Experience of dealing with members of the public / patient facing roles
