The Department of English Dual Enrollment (DE) Program seeks someone experienced with its administrative operations and instructional curriculum to help manage workflows as well as provide individualized support for new IORs and facilitators.
Job Responsibilities:
50% - Lead summer workshop and makeup workshops; attend planning sessions before workshop weeks; prepare presentations, lessons, materials for workshop; review teaching portfolios submitted during summer workshop; advise facilitators throughout the year via email, phone, and in-person sessions
25% - Assist with make-up facilitator training and instructional support for new facilitators; Oversee recertification process for new facilitators; Assist with new IOR onboarding; Help schedule and manage regular IOR meetings
25% - Support updating, organizing, and archiving dual enrollment instructional materials and administrative documents; Manage diagnostic essays for high school students applying for DE English composition courses.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Years of Experience: 3 years teaching first-year writing courses and IORing DE schools at LSU
Specific Experience: Evidence of outstanding teaching and administrative management in the English Dual Enrollment program. Experience developing English DE curriculum and instructional support materials. Familiarity with composition theory.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
Years of Experience: 6 years teaching first-year writing courses and IORing DE schools at LSU
Specific Experience: Familiarity with existing DE schools and facilitators.
