This role primarily involves managing a team responsible for overall installation of control system in lab for HVDC projects. Furthermore, this team is also responsible for making sure that the control systems are thoroughly integrated and verified, to maximum possible extent, within our controls lab and then re-verified together with the remainder of the HVDC scheme during the static and dynamic commissioning process at site.
In this role the candidate will be reporting to Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineering Leader and will have significant impacts on projects and programs in the functional area. Furthermore, the candidate will have significant input into V&V priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.
We have delivery centres in Germany, UK & India and the candidate needs to ensure collaboration across all our delivery centres. Communication and status reporting will be essential to build a strong one team culture.

Required Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business. More than 15 years’ experience in HVDC industry including HVDC station equipment and design. Experienced in managing and leading team with strong technical background. Experienced in leading programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs on budget and on time. Experienced in leading and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Proactively serves on cross functional leadership teams; Makes decisions independently; Pulls in experts when needed. Strong communications skills, able to forge strong relationships with peer-level designers, platform managers, developers, engineering, planning and operations managers to explain and drive technology change through the lifecycle. Ability to work with stakeholders to ensure the proposed solution is affordable, deliverable and delivers the required business outcomes. Innovating to exceed Time, Cost, Quality measures / sharing best practice. Experience of HVDC Control and Protection (LCC/VSC) pre-commissioning/Lab Commissioning Expertise in HVDC GE Control and Protection Hardware (Series V and eLumina) Knowledge of Control and Protection Cubicle Circuit Diagram, field cabling protection relays, HV/MV/LV switchgear, IED’s and Distributed control system. Experience of leading a team on installation of Control and Protection systems on Site/Lab. Familiar with Health and Safety of the Laboratory and Cubicle Test Area Strong organization, coordination, planning and teaming skills along with excellent oral and written communication. Be familiar with the regulatory requirements specific to the lab and demonstrate in previous experience that you have ensured all users are incompliance with those standards.
