GENERAL SUMMARY

Participates in the loan management process by providing credit and loan analytical expertise with a focus on both syndicated and direct Asset-Based Loans (ABL). Following established policies and departmental procedures, responsible for underwriting simple and complex corporate commercial loans and assisting in maintaining and monitoring the ABL portfolio, including preparation of CCRs and annual reviews. Also, analyzes prospective loan transactions and credit worthiness of potential borrowers. Prepares credit analysis and provides opinions and recommendations regarding proposed and loan portfolio credits and potential risks to both the credit profile and collateral securing the transactions, including entering information into nCino, and analyzing cash spread reports. Ensures all due diligence and background evaluation is complete and thorough on a loan request so credit approval can be considered.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Reviews existing and new loan exposures, proposed extensions of credit and financial information; evaluates credit structure and terms; determines sources and uses of funds; analyzes industry data, competitive factors, historical performance, projected results, risks, and mitigating factors.
• Reviews and evaluates collateral performance periodically, including field exams and appraisals, to minimize credit exposure.
• Recommends credit alternatives and creative ways to structure credits ensuring that transactions are within profitability and portfolio risk standards.
• Authors credit approval analysis and annual review reports.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge on all Bank lending policies and regulations.
• Confers with the appropriate Bank personnel regarding lending requirements and regulations.
• Supports lending management team by monitoring performance of borrowers, identifying problem credits, and taking a proactive approach toward resolution.
• Reviews risk grading on an ongoing basis to identify potential credit profile issues.
• Escalates potential credit issues to Team Manager and Division Manager, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: College degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred. Foundational knowledge of accounting principles or relevant experience applying accounting concepts (coursework preferred) Prior ABL training is preferred.
• Experience: Working knowledge of credit, accounting, credit procedures and financial statement analysis. Must have a minimum 5-7 years (VP level) or minimum 7-10 years (FVP level) of working experience in analyzing and underwriting varying levels of complex commercial credit, which includes analyzing company and personal financial statements, tax returns, cash flows, various industries, field exams, collateral issues and values, and loan structures.
• Skills/Ability: Strong knowledge of commercial credit policies and procedures. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills to present clear and precise recommendations based upon analysis of a loan structure and request. Ability to work independently and in teams and interact effectively with all levels of Bank personnel and outside contacts. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and financial spreading programs.

OTHER DETAILS

VP: $95K – $135K / year
FVP: $140K – $165K / year
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
