Join us as a VP, VIACHAIN Experiences!

ORBCOMM is looking for a strategic and execution-focused technology leader to head our global VIACHAIN customer experience engineering organization. In this executive role, you will lead the teams building and scaling customer-facing digital products across web, mobile, APIs, chat, and AI-enabled experiences.

This role is based in either our Hyderabad, India office or Sterling, U.S. office. We operate in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week onsite, with the option to work remotely two (2) days per week. With a hybrid schedule, you’ll be able to collaborate in person and build strong relationships with our team.

What you will do

  • Lead the global VIACHAIN Experiences engineering organization across the Americas, Europe, and APAC, driving a high-accountability, follow-the-sun operating model.
  • Own engineering delivery and evolution of customer-facing applications and services spanning web, mobile, APIs, chat, self-service capabilities, and AI-enabled user experiences.
  • Drive a unified customer experience strategy across ORBCOMM’s road, ocean, and rail workflows, balancing product innovation with operational excellence.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Data & AI, QA, PMO, Support, and executive leadership to prioritize roadmaps, reduce delivery friction, and improve customer outcomes.
  • Build reliable, scalable, secure platforms with strong observability, automation, release discipline, and support readiness.
  • Champion AI-first product experiences, agentic workflows, and data-driven insights that create value for customers and strengthen ORBCOMM’s competitive differentiation.
  • Engage directly with strategic customers and key escalations where executive engineering leadership is needed to build trust and drive resolution.
  • Develop and coach leaders, strengthen succession depth, and continue building a customer-centric, innovation-led engineering culture.

  • Stronger quality, platform reliability, release discipline, and Tier 3 support readiness across the VIACHAIN Experiences portfolio.
  • Faster delivery of strategic customer-facing experiences and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Improved collaboration across Engineering, Product, Data & AI, and Customer-facing functions.
  • A stronger leadership bench and a more scalable operating model for sustained growth.

What we need to see

  • 15+ years of technology and software engineering experience, including significant time leading multi-site or global engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading customer-facing SaaS, web, mobile, API, or platform engineering organizations.
  • Strong track record improving execution, operational rigor, reliability, quality, and software delivery at scale.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Support, Program Management, Quality, and executive stakeholders.
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills, including the ability to engage credibly with customers and senior leaders.
  • Experience building high-performing teams, coaching leaders, and creating accountability in matrixed global organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Ways to stand out from the crowd

  • Experience in industrial IoT, logistics, supply chain, maritime, transportation, fleet, or connected asset platforms.
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud-native platforms, observability, DevSecOps, automation, and modern engineering operating models.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into customer-facing applications and workflows.
  • Exposure to products involving digital visibility, mobile workflows, API ecosystems, telemetry, or operational decision support.
  • A strong bias for both strategic thinking and execution detail.
