Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Lead end-to-end technology delivery across multiple platforms, business segments, and vendor ecosystems, ensuring successful execution of complex, highly integrated technology programmes.
  • Own operational reliability and delivery outcomes for mission-critical systems, ensuring solutions are built, integrated, deployed, and evolved safely within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Manage complex integrations and third-party dependencies, driving accountability for seamless execution, risk mitigation, and predictable delivery performance.
  • Lead major incident management and recovery efforts, providing hands-on leadership during high-risk situations while implementing systemic improvements to enhance resilience and stability.
  • Drive engineering excellence and modern delivery practices, including SDLC, DevOps, quality engineering, and AI-enabled/agentic development approaches to improve speed, quality, and efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional business and technology leaders to align delivery execution with strategic priorities, regulatory requirements, client commitments, commercial objectives, and cost optimisation goals.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $177,000 to $350,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications

  • 20+ years of leadership experience delivering large-scale technology programmes in complex, regulated environments, with accountability for platforms, teams, budgets, and business outcomes
  • Extensive experience delivering and operating mission-critical technology platforms within banking, capital markets, or other highly regulated, high-availability environments.
  • Strong technical expertise across system integration, distributed architectures, cloud, data, security, and operations, with the ability to assess and challenge technology designs and delivery approaches.
  • Proven leadership in managing large-scale vendor ecosystems, technology investments, and modern engineering practices, leveraging automation, AI-enabled delivery, and disciplined commercial oversight to drive efficiency and business value.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of financial services operations, regulatory requirements, risk management, resilience, and performance engineering, including capacity planning, recovery, and operational controls
  • Hands-on technology leader with the ability to balance strategic oversight and operational execution, confidently engaging in delivery planning, solution reviews, and critical incident management.
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen, capable of balancing speed, risk, cost, and investment trade-offs while driving predictable delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Proven people and stakeholder leadership, with a track record of building high-performing teams, developing delivery leaders, fostering accountability, and influencing executive, client, and regulatory audiences through credibility and clear communication.
