Job Description
This position plays a key role in the organization by managing business application solution delivery in support of F&G’s strategic goals and objectives. A sizable component of the position is leading technology services focused on the development of platforms and applications. This role serves as the technology leader for the Finance, Liabilities & Investments domain, accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes through integrated product teams. The VP, Solutions Delivery partners with business and IT leadership to drive continuous value delivery, modernize platforms, and enable scalable, secure, and compliant insurance capabilities aligned to enterprise strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accountable for end-to-end delivery across the Finance, Liabilities & Investments domain, ensuring measurable business outcomes (growth, expense reduction, customer experience, risk reduction) are achieved.
- Improve business processes and support critical business strategies by overseeing the development, implementation, maintenance, scalability, and performance of applications and products.
- Lead and develop the Finance, Liabilities & Investments domain of value stream solutions delivery teams to effectively partner with the business to translate business needs into scalable, efficient solutions that achieve goals and drive company and IT priorities.
- Own technology performance across the full lifecycle of products and capabilities within the Finance, Liabilities & Investments domain.
- Understand industry trends, tools and practices and partner with business unit peers and architecture to assess technical capabilities needed to support company strategies and develop multi-year capability roadmaps.
- Lead RFP processes and negotiate contracts aligned to value realization, performance incentives, and long-term capability strategy.
- Manage strategic technology and platform partners as integrated members of value stream teams.
- Align vendor performance to business outcomes and ensure contract compliance. Relationship building with senior-level executive stakeholders
- Lead cross-functional, product-aligned teams, fostering shared accountability between business and technology within the Finance, Liabilities & Investments domain to ensure implemented solutions meet the needs of the organization.
- Operational budget analysis, creation and management
- Own the escalation for all technology issues related to the delivery of technical solutions
- Ensure alignment of architecture, data, and platforms to enable seamless experience throughout the full insurance lifecycle.
- Partner with leaders across F&G to understand needs and co-develop integrated business + technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee solutions delivery efforts, providing input to capability planning, and ensuring solutions adhere to F&G security and compliance guidelines, quality assurance standards, and align with disaster recovery guidelines.
- Manage persistent capacity planning aligned to value stream priorities and optimize team composition across all roles needed to support outcomes.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, or related field required, advanced degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role
- Demonstrated experience supporting IT or technology-enabled functions within designated business group (i.e. finance, liabilities &investments)
- Strong understanding of insurance value chains
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency with applications architecture, frameworks and enterprise solutions delivery
- Experience leading in a Product Operating Model or Value Stream organization.
- Strong and current architecture and implementation experience
- Experience designing, developing, implementing and monitoring adherence to policy, process, procedures and standards
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing outsource vendors, COTS and internal staff
- ITIL certification a plus
- Significant technical, financial and contract management experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in the Life and Annuity Insurance market
- Extensive service level management experience; SAS70 knowledge a plus
- Experience with OKRs and outcome-based performance management
- Business Process Re-Engineering, Six Sigma or Lean a plus
- Knowledge of Financial Services industry a plus
- Aptitude to manage multiple value streams and objectives simultaneously
- Ability to effectively lead teams, coordinate team activities, and mobilize workforce
- Extensive service level management experience
- Knowledge of value stream management principles, product operating models, agile/lean practices, and outcome-based performance measurement.
- Strong networking and relationship-building across the organization and with service providers and COTS vendors
- Current knowledge of solution and information security, compliance and disaster recovery principles.
- Business/commercially-focused and results oriented
- Strong fiscal focus including budgets, ROI and Cost Benefit Analysis
- Consultative and client-oriented, a creative problem solver with a collaborative nature
- Executive Leadership; ability to influence/negotiate with peers and vendors
- Professional, decisive with integrity and high ethical standards
