This pivotal executive leadership position at Highmark/enGen is entrusted with driving the strategic vision, product ownership, and enterprise-wide execution for our highly critical Salesforce ecosystem and the comprehensive Provider IT strategy. The VP will be accountable for a significant portfolio encompassing over 50 Provider applications (e.g., Credentialing, Contracting, Pricing, Provider Data) and the expansive Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Health Cloud), including integrated technologies like MuleSoft, Tableau, and Copado.

Leading with a strategic and execution-minded approach, this role oversees the end-to-end lifecycle – from conceptualization and development to operational support – ensuring these foundational platforms are optimized for efficiency, strategic growth, and high-impact solutions across core enterprise functions like Sales, Marketing, UCD, Provider, and HR. The VP will manage multi-million dollar investments within both domains, identifying commercialization opportunities and driving significant value realization for provider stakeholders and the organization.

A key focus will be fostering a high-performance culture and developing top-tier talent within the Salesforce and Provider IT teams, alongside championing enterprise delivery excellence and robust governance. The successful leader will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior business leaders and external consultants, translating complex business needs into innovative technical solutions and driving the crucial IT Provider Strategy transformation and Salesforce strategy. This role demands a visionary leader capable of integrating deep technical expertise with sharp business acumen to safeguard and maximize Highmark/enGen's strategic technology investments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, and manage the day-to-day operations of the team; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; manage to assigned budgets.

  • Strategic Leadership & Product Ownership for Salesforce and Provider IT: Provide visionary leadership, strategic direction, and overall product ownership for the Salesforce and Provider IT portfolios. This includes defining and evolving comprehensive technology roadmaps, architectural strategies, and innovation initiatives that anticipate future customer needs, leverage leading-edge technologies, and align with enGen's market strategy. Own and drive product development for enterprise-wide solutions within these domains, ensuring alignment with current development and operational quality frameworks.

  • Operational Excellence, Technology Strategy & Modernization: Define, evolve, and implement the comprehensive technology strategy, operating model, tools, and standards for Salesforce and Provider IT. This includes modernizing delivery practices (e.g., agile, hybrid), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of platforms, and establishing necessary IT service operating models and processes to meet client needs. Ensure the implementation and adherence to relevant government regulations, mandates, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Enterprise Delivery Excellence & Governance: Drive and continuously elevate enterprise delivery excellence across all strategic and operational initiatives within Salesforce and Provider IT. Establish and enforce robust portfolio and program governance models that ensure consistent execution discipline, transparent reporting on outcomes, value realization, and proactive management of risks and dependencies. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on delivery readiness, critical decision points, and the effective execution of large, complex, cross-business unit programs.

  • Business & Client Partnership and Relationship Management: Cultivate and strengthen strategic relationships with key Sr. business stakeholders, product management, and external clients to understand their evolving needs and drive the overall strategy and execution of transformational activities within the Salesforce and Provider IT ecosystems. Act as a primary liaison, translating business objectives into feasible and impactful technical solutions, and ensuring that customer-centric roadmaps are translated into well-sequenced delivery plans that maximize business value.

  • Financial Stewardship & Value Realization (P&L Accountability): Maintain full profit and loss (P&L) accountability for the Salesforce and Provider IT product areas and associated services. Manage substantial budgets, quarterly forecasts, and resource allocation, actively seeking opportunities for profitable growth. Partner with Finance and Product Management to enhance business case rigor, funding governance, and post-implementation value tracking, ensuring that investments deliver measurable ROI and support enterprise prioritization decisions with data-driven insights.

EXPERIENCE


Required

  • Ten years with technology products and service management
  • 10 years with product management, project/program management and continuous improvement framework
  • 5 years of driving transformational change, leading teams, developing talent and building relationships'
  • 7 years of management and/or leadership role
  • 5 years of experience with Salesforce

Preferred

  • 5 years with complex initiatives in consulting, healthcare or insurance industries
  • 5 years with agile development techniques and tools.

Pay Range Minimum:

$185,000.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$335,000.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
