Our award-winning client is seeking a VP, Sales and Product Development - Apparel to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Strong working relationship with home goods customers to open doors, bring in new business, expand current business volume. Markets (Apparel - Men, Women and Kids) can be USA or non-US destinations like Canada or Europe.
Engage and develop marketing efforts- through developing marketing material, pitch and presentation either in NY or visit the customers.
Work with teams in the orient to develop a unique selling proposition.
Study and analyze market trends, develop and create product lines to present new concepts / ideas through working together with merchant teams.
Engage in product development to sustain the trend right ideas turning them into products.
Visit current customers and new customers at regular level with a dialogue / proposals that supplement the Asia Pacific merchants team who only visit customers once or twice a year.
Analyze pricing, to build new business and current business.
Overseas trips and occasional overnight trips as necessary to meet customers.
Provide a working calendar for monthly trend report, quarterly market update, and proposals for market week or presentations to current and new customers.
Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.

Related head of merchant teams, in house artist, vendors.
Required Qualifications:
Relevant experience in apparel imports.
Product knowledge on apparel products, basic technical and design sense. Able to identify each COST DRIVER (key component drive up cost) on spot when reviewing products with buyers. This also helps to sell a product with focus.
Able to communicate directly, co-create with Customer buyer, designer, PD teams.
Regular sharing on market trends and needs.
Familiar with the US market and / or non US markets. ** Products are Men’s, Women’s, Children wear, woven and knits,
Price points from basic to high end
Personnel Specifications:
Excellent process management skills that involved negotiation and problem-solving problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Collaborative with ability to work across functions and in concert with region and global counterparts.
Strong commercial sense and knowledge of consumer/fashion trends.
Able to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
Frequent visits to buyers, build relationships.
