Job Description

Purpose and Scope

The VP Sales and Marketing, US Oncology/Breast Cancer is responsible for leading the US launch and commercialization strategy for a new breast cancer product planned for introduction in 2027. This executive will own the end-to-end commercial strategy, including brand strategy, sales leadership, launch readiness, forecasting, and cross-functional execution, to establish a strong foundation for a successful US oncology launch.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive with deep US oncology experience, strong breast cancer market understanding, and a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams. This role carries full P&L responsibility for the brand and direct leadership of a field organization, with accountability for launch performance, market adoption, and long-term brand growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Product Launch & Lifecycle Management

  • Lead all aspects of US launch readiness for 2027, including pre-launch planning, field force design, training, market development, and in-market execution.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to inform strategy and adapt tactics throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Partner with Global colleagues to ensure alignment with brand vision and leverage best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with US regulatory requirements, including FDA promotional standards, legal/compliance policies, and pharmacovigilance procedures.

Sales Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing US field organization, including 10 - 15 field-based representatives and 1 – 2 Regional Sales Directors.
  • Develop and execute US field deployment plans, sales targets, and incentive programs to drive launch readiness and sustained performance.
  • Monitor national sales performance metrics and optimize field execution strategies to achieve launch, growth, and profitability objectives in the US market.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement focused on patient outcomes and commercial excellence.

Marketing Strategy

  • Lead development and execution of US brand strategy, positioning, and messaging for a new breast cancer product planned for launch in 2027.
  • Design and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive awareness, trial, and loyalty among physicians and patients.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Market Access to ensure aligned and compliant execution.
  • Manage agency partners and oversee creative, digital, and media planning.
  • Develop and lead a strategic KOL engagement plan across the US breast cancer landscape, partnering with Medical Affairs to cultivate compliant relationships that inform brand strategy, support education initiatives, and strengthen launch readiness.
  • Engage breast oncologists, oncology care teams, integrated delivery networks, and patient advocacy organizations to strengthen brand presence and trust.

Market Access & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Market Access to shape reimbursement and payer strategies that support launch readiness, access, and long-term brand performance.
  • Work with Medical Affairs to support KOL development and scientific exchange
  • Collaborate with Global counterparts to align on brand vision and best practices
  • Responsible for reporting Adverse Events and Technical Complaints to Tolmar Pharmacovigilance and Patient Safety (PSSP) that you learn of per SOP-00821, Pharmacovigilance and Technical Complaint Reporting.

Operational Excellence

  • Own the brand P&L and manage the commercial budget to deliver on revenue, market share, profitability, and access objectives.
  • Oversee performance tracking, forecasting, and business analytics to inform decisions.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, US healthcare regulations, and Pharmacovigilance & Patient Safety procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • 15+ years of progressive biopharmaceutical experience, including significant US oncology commercial leadership experience and prior accountability for product launch and growth performance.
  • Demonstrated success leading the US commercialization of specialty oncology brands, with breast cancer experience strongly preferred and the ability to translate market complexity into a clear, differentiated launch strategy.
  • Strong executive leadership capability, including experience building, leading, and developing high-performing commercial organizations and second-line leaders in a matrixed environment.
  • Advanced strategic and financial acumen, including ownership of brand P&L, forecasting, resource allocation, scenario planning, and trade-off decisions to optimize revenue, profitability, and long-term brand value.
  • Deep understanding of the US oncology ecosystem, including community and academic oncology, integrated delivery networks, specialty pharmacy, payer dynamics, reimbursement pathways, and patient access barriers.
  • Proven ability to influence and align senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Finance, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, and Global functions to execute enterprise priorities.
  • Strong external leadership presence with experience engaging key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, strategic partners, and other senior stakeholders in a compliant and credible manner.
  • Excellent analytical and business insight capabilities, including the ability to interpret market research, competitive intelligence, field insights, and performance data to make timely strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional executive communication and influence skills, with the ability to synthesize complex issues, present recommendations clearly, and drive decisions with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Entrepreneurial, agile, and patient-focused mindset with sound judgment, strong accountability, and the ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced and highly regulated launch environment.
Education / Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are consistent with a normal office environment and/or remote from home office.
  • Travel is required for up to 75%.

Compensation

Tolmar compensation programs are focused on equitable, fair pay practices, including market-based base pay and a strong benefits package. The final compensation offered may vary from the posted range based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between ($215,000 to 275,000/year); however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/26 through 12/31/26, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to, geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
